"When you have done everything you were told to do, say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.'" --Luke 17:10
Prayer Warriors,
In just a few days, Chris and I will return to the States and thus complete our two-year term on the Xtreme Team. Through my prayer updates and journal entries, I have tried to give an accurate account of all that has taken place during this time. With all sincerity, I must say that this period here in the jungles of Peru has proven to be one of the richest seasons of my life; a blessed journey filled with adventure, difficulty, growth, lessons, change, new experiences, and miracles.
For all of my days, I will proclaim among all nations the good works of God that I have witnessed. In passionately pursuing His Bride to the ends of the earth, the Lord has redeemed a large portion of the Amarakaeri people group, while planting His church five times over among four different villages. I praise Jesus for making disciples of the previously unreached, and for allowing us to take part in this mission. Despite my weaknesses and defeats, though my flesh tried often to get in the way, the Father fulfilled His purposes and accomplished all that He pleased. Oh what grace He has shown!
My greatest prayer as I leave this place, is that God was, is, and will continue to be, glorified by our team and the Harakmbut nation. To see Him receive the worship and praise and honor that He so righteously deserves is indeed the desire of all our affections.
With all my heart, I thank you all for partnering with us throughout this mission. Your prayers and letters and packages and words have served to encourage and challenge and edify and spur me on. I greatly look forward to seeing you all so that we may, at last, rejoice together over the greatness of the Lord and all that He has done in the Peruvian jungles. May we turn all praise toward Him.
Still Running the Race,
Jonathan, Johnny, Juanito, Budtere
