Yet another month begins of my life in
Peru. Almost exactly three months ago, I arrived in this country; and yet it seems as though it's been twice as long.
Perhaps this illusion of time is due to the deal of change God has brought to my life during these months. The Father has taught me lessons and worked wonders in the areas of humility, joy, grace, service, love, selflessness, and sufficiency. He has strengthen me while making me greatly aware of my weaknesses. Used me while showing me He doesn't have to use me.
Time has also flown-by; partly because our days here are full and opportunities many. Seemingly in need of more than the given 24 hours, our team gets together to pray, worship, research, work-out, run, study Spanish, learn Bible stories, shoot the bow, wash our clothes by hand, climb the wall, meditate on Scripture, clean-out the creek by the river, compete in obstacle courses, eat, play sports, and learn daily how to best reach the lost people groups of Western South America.
Outside of the training-camp walls, we go to Chosica, San Juan Lorigancho, La Victoria, Mira Flores, and wherever else the Spirit leads, to share the word of God in hopes to make disciples who make disciples and plant churches that plant churches.
After all that, when or if there's time, we climb mountains, play chess, watch movies, play ping-pong, write, call our families, read, e-mail our prayer partners, hang-out, and sleep.
Again, it feels like I've been here twice as long as I have. Still, one should not be misled by my words, nor infer a tone that isn't there. For we are seldom busy or rushed, and I am filled with a spirit of joy and thankfulness in all we do.
This life the Father enables me to live is such a gift that a thousand Hallmark cards a day would never properly say, "Thank You." All I can do is take this life God's given, and give it right back
